UPDATE 8/23/2022
Thank you all, for your prayers, cards, and encouraging words. Yesterday, August 22, Rick was transferred from Christiana Hospital to PAM Rehab Hospital in Milford, DE. PAM (Post Acute Medical) Rehab Hospital is part of the Bayhealth Sussex Campus. PAM is an acute rehab hospital which means that Rick will receive at least 3 hours of various therapies per day, rather than the 1 hour per day at a standard rehab hospital. His stay will most likely last no more than 2 weeks, unless the medical and therapy staff agree that another few days would help him and can get Aetna to agree to pay. The goal for PAM is to help Rick achieve a level of mobility and safety so that he can return home at the end of his stay. I'm sure there will be continuing therapy once he is home, either in-house or at a day rehabilitation site, depending on his mobility. Please continue to keep Rick in your prayers for energy and strength as he attends his therapy sessions.
