Remembering Rev. Larry Stookey
A couple of years before he retired, Larry made a set of 20 stained glass panels that were displayed in a wooden framework placed below the cross in Oxnam Chapel. Over the years, the wooden frame deteriorated, and when the chapel was renovated in 2010, it was demolished and the panels were put into storage.
Now, it is time to bring the panels back into the light of day. Because so much glass is quite heavy and it is important to distribute the weight carefully, we are currently working with an architect who specializes in fabrication to devise a way to stabilize and display the glass panels to their best advantage.
The estimate for this project is approximately $6000. Would you be willing to help us, either with a donation or by passing this letter along to someone else who might want to remember Larry in this way?
