Prior to beginning her position as Director of Evangelism for the United Methodist Church in 2013, Heather Lear served as pastor of three congregations in North Carolina, where she is an ordained elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference. Heather holds degrees from Boston University, Duke Divinity School, and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is grateful for her husband’s support that enables her ministry and her 8-year old son, who constantly reminds her of what the Kingdom of God looks like.
Evangelism in the 21st Century
What does (and does not) evangelism mean and look like for United Methodists? How do we connect with our communities? How is my congregation equipped to serve and be a witness “for such a time as this?”
Please join us (and bring a team from your church with you!) as we explore these and other questions around evangelism, discipleship, and outreach in our 21st Century context.
If you are interested in doing some work prior to the 22nd, Rev. Lear has invited you to join a free 5-week webinar course that she will be leading with Mark Teasdale, the evangelism professor at Garret-Evangelical.
